SUPER CLAW

We at Dehner Welding designed, engineered, and built this monster of a
claw to just about every job where a grappling unit is involved.
DESIGN:
The claw opens to roughly 37.5 inches wide tip to tip, and closes down to
roughly only 10 inches on the very inside. Each “finger” is 1 ¾ “inch thick. All
pins, gussets, and cross members are 1" inch thick steel bar. About 95% of
the SUPER CLAW is made of 1” inch thick solid steel bar. The total weight
of the SUPER CLAW is about 500 LBS. The cylinders have a 3” bore with an
8” stroke. Everything is fastened to a 1/2" inch thick metal plate that is
mounted to the universal plate that is 3/8" thick.
HOW IT WORKS:
Basically there are two “fingers” on the left (as if you were on your machine)
and one “finger” on the right. When you close the fingers together, the finger
on the right goes in between the two fingers on the left. You can pick up
items with just using the tips of the fingers or you could just wrap around the
item.
Warning:
This is no toy. It will crush barrels, washers and dryers with out breaking a
sweat. It will round up the most stubborn brush pile. If you can get even the
toughest debris in it jaws the SUPER CLAW will give the debris a run for its
money.
One thing I really like about the SUPER CLAW is its help clearing a fallen
tree. With most grapples you have to come in from the side to grab
something, but with the SUPER CLAW you just drive right in to the limbs and
tip the SUPER CLAW over and go down on the brush and just close the jaws
and back out! It is just great how it gathers all the limbs up! It also skids logs
great!!

The top pictures are of the first one made, and the bottom pictures are of
the ones we are currently making. The SUPER CLAW comes with all of the
hoses and CONNECTORS. All of the hoses are 3/8" inch., and the tees you
will get are high pressure hydraulic fittings.
